Simplicity with a dash of spontaneity. Friendship in the form of admiration. This week’s new challenge over at Inspired by All the Little Things really inspired be to keep it clean and simple. It was a style I struggled with when I begun my crafting journey, but a style I have really embraced and started to understand in the past month or so.
It just so happens there were a few challenges going on currently that meshed really well with this week’s new challenge, so I have combined a few themes into one:

|Curtain Call Challenge - "Simplicity"|
Lately I’m been starting to feel like I have found my calling with my style and my choice of color palette. I am still pretty torn between the use of copic markers and watercolor, but when it comes to florals, it has always been watercolor, no question. I interpreted the inspiration photo for IbAtLT rather literally. One pink floral image on the left side as your focal point, and to keep it simple and taking into account of the Curtain Call inpisration, “Simplicity.” And lastly, a ode to friendship by ending it with a sentiment “You’re the Best.”
Pink and gold has always been a favorite color combo for me. I decided to stamp one of the floral images from the Altenew Persian Motif set in gold, and then begin to loosely watercolor it in shades of pink and brown. I also added a hint of gold watercolor in some of the stems to add additional texture and shading.
It’s a bit difficult to really capture how beautifully elegant the gold is shining, but I’m sure you know how beautiful gold embossing looks like in real life. For the sentiment, I stamped “You’re the Best” from the Mama Elephant Labeled Messages set. I know that Altenew has their own set as well, but I generally don’t buy additional sets if I already purchase similar ones. Also, my DYMO embossing label comes in pretty handy when I need custom or more personal message. I stamped my sentiment in Toffee.
As my last addition, I used one of my gold patterned washi tape to add a little bit of interest to the left side of the card. Adding a strip of color, washi, pattern, whatever you want, helps anchor the overall feel of the card to one side. And that completes my card!
