Alt | Thank You For Being So Amazing

kiwi konceptsHappy Saturday! Time for a new challenge at Inspired By All The Little Things and this week’s inspiration photo is full of bright and strong colors.

I was not only inspired by the colors, but also the layout of the photo. The dark blue encompassed the center floral, so I decided to frame my card with a dark blue border, created by using 2 stitched rectangle dies. Unfortunately I didn’t have any dark navy blue cardstock on me, and I was pretty sad about it. But if I went out and bought every color cardstock every time I needed it, I would be pretty broke, haha. So I decided to blend Chipped Sapphire ink onto watercolor paper to substitute.

I stamped a large sentiment in the center from WPlus9 That Is All, and then stamped Altenew Painted Flowers around it. I chose to watercolor my flowers instead of using the layered stamps, and I used similar colors to that of the inspiration. I was also wanted to tryout my new Prima Watercolors that I got for my birthday!

Hope you enjoy today’s inspiration and join us in the the beautiful challenge this week!

Cheers,

I love that you reached into your stash to create the colour of cardstock you needed. A perfect way to stretch your supplies and save $. Lovely card!!

I think the ink blending works better for your background – it adds just the right amount of interest that you might not have had with plain navy cardstock. I love it when a plan comes together like that, haha! A very beautiful card, Keeway!

Sorry I’m so late visiting you this week! Your card is gorgeous. I think the inked frame looks better than if you had navy card stock! Lovely!
