Hello there! Today I’m on the Createasmile blog sharing a clean a simple card with these adorable koala pirates! Are any of you familiar with the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disneyland? There is this one room in the ride filled with mounds of treasure…or just like the Cave of Wonders in Aladdin! …or Bellatrix’s vault in Harry Potter? I’m sure you get my point…hahaha!
I wanted to create piles of treasure and I did so by masking my mini pile of coins from the stamp set. I didn’t want to go too crazy so the large pile is made up of 3 stampings, and I also had 1 mini pile on its own in the back. I colored them up with copic markers and fussy cut them out.
I also wanted to create the impression that the treasure is glowing, so I used a sunray stencil add some yellow and red distress ink blending, with the large pile of coins as our center point of interest. I also have some light ink blending for the floor.
My koalas were stamp in black Versafine ink and then colored with copic markers. There were also a little bit of white gel pen outlining. And lastly, I stamped the sentiment in black directly onto my background panel.
Very sweet and simple, and to the point!
