Hello and welcome to my stop in Ruby’s Bridal Shower Hop! If you haven’t heard the news, the big day happened on Saturday, September 24th. I’m so excited to be a happy hostess for this hop and to celebrate this exciting day with Ruby! Congratulations Mrs. Ruby Ianigro!
To celebrate this happy day, I made a congratulatory card with Altenew’s Bamboo Rose stamp set. I just love the whimsiness of these roses!
I used my MISTI tool and arranged several roses hanging over the top left corner of the card. I inked the roses up with Milk Chocolate hybrid ink and stamped on watercolor paper. The MISTI comes in handy since it may take a couple times to get a nice solid stamped image on watercolor paper because of its rough surface.
Next, I made a soft, heavily diluted wash of Tattered Rose and Vintage Photo in the entire rose area. Once it’s dried, I then started carefully painting in each of the roses and leaves. The roses were painted with Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick. The leaves were painted with Forest Moss and Bundled Sage. I used the inks I already had out in my palette to add some light splatter and also stamp some swirlies in between the roses.
I finished up the card by stamping the congratulations sentiment from Altenew’s Painted Greetings in Milk Chocolate hybrid ink. And then blended on a hint of Vintage Photo distress ink to the edges of the card to add that final vintage touch to the card.
Since I already had my roses arranged on my MISTI and I loved these roses so much, I decided to stamp it again on white cardstock and copic color them! I always love seeing how using different mediums can completely change how a card looks.
Again, I used milk chocolate hybrid ink to stamp my images, and then I colored them with copic markers. The feel of this card felt so clean that I didn’t want to stamp the swirlies in this one, so I simply added a splash of Vintage Photo splatter and left it as is.
Instead of using the same congratulations sentiment, I decided to use the one in Altenew’s Magnolias For Her stamp set. It had a cleaner, modern look, which I thought was much more fitting for this card. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on a strip of Hot Fudge Card Stock and adhered it across the roses.
As part of the bridal shower, we also have prizes to share! We are giving away one $25 gift card to Mama Elephant, one $30 gift card to Winner & Walter, and one $20 gift card to Kennedy Grace Creations.
Winners will be selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop! Commenting will close on Saturday, October 22 at 11:59 pm pacific. Winners will be posted on my blog on Sunday, October 23rd.
