Hello and welcome to my stop in the Altenew January 2017 Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Therese’s blog but if not, no worries, I have the full list down below to help you navigate your way through the entire hop.
How amazing is it that Altenew now have coordinated alcohol markersto match their inks! I was so surprised to hear about them and so excited to have the opportunity to try them as I am an avid copic user. I loved how easily I was able to match the marker I used with the inks I were using with the layering stamps.
For my card today, I decided to use the Lotus Stamp Set. I knew how beautifully detailed the images were in this set, so I thought it was perfect to try out the markers with it. I first stamped the images in dark brown hybrid ink for the outline images. Then, I stamped the detailed lines with Ruby Red Dye Ink. Since the Ruby Red Dye Ink coordinated perfectly with my markers, I knew I can add blended coloring to my images flawlessly!
Once I was done coloring, I die cut my lotus flowers out with the coordinating dies.
I created a loose watercolor background with my Gansai Tambi watercolors as I wanted to create a water-like background for my lotus flowers. I heat embossed my sentiment from the Floral Sprig Stamp Set in gold. I also took my Versamark stamp set and gently smeared some ink onto the top and bottom edges of my card, and loosely sprinkled gold embossing powder onto it to create that rough yet loose sprinkle of gold.
Once the background was finished, I was able to adhere it directly onto an A2 card base. I then arranged and attached my florals around the bottom of the card with foam squares.
If you’re already a huge fan of Altenew’s inks as much as I am, these markers are a definitely a must-have in your collection! The color and blend beautifully and take out the guess work in looking for right colors to match your stamped images. And to top it off, the Artist Markers Set is $44.99 ($3.75 each) which are way cheaper than copic markers!
Altenew Artist Markers are alcohol-based, allowing you to beautifully blend colors to any stamped images. Our various range of stamps is perfect for these markers. You can also easily pair them with our Crisp Dye Inks to take your coloring to the next level! The colors in this set are designed to be as close as possible to our existing ink colors, so you can take the color guessing game out of the way when coloring.
