Hello and welcome to my stop in the Altenew March 2017 Blog Hop! You may have arrived here from Laura’s blog, but if not, I’ve got the full list of the hop at the bottom of the post for you. I am absolutely thrilled to join the Altenew Design Team today in sharing some of their new March products. Altenew has so many surpises up their sleeves! I really think you’ll be truly blown away by today’s big post!
I will be featuring the new exciting ink sprays and stencils that Altenew is releasing this month! There’s so much to show so let’s get started!
My first card features the new stencil Floral Drape Stencil. I am absolutely in love with this stencil. Can you believe I didn’t use a single stamp to create this gorgeous background on this card? The whole background was created with just this one stencil, some distress inks, and a mini dauber. I carefully blended the florals in various pinks and the leaves with a mossy green. I finished off the background with some splatter with distress inks.
Next up is a card I made with the new ink sprays, Soft Lilac and Ocean Waves. These ink spray have a beautiful, sparkly shine to them. I knew immediately I wanted to stamp with them with the Painted Butterflies stamp set. I sprayed the inks on a palette (I use a ceramic plate), and then dipped my solid image stamp right into the ink. I intentionally mixed the Soft Lilac and Ocean Waves in different amounts for each of my butterflies so that the mixing of colors varied for each.
Once it’s nice and dry, I stamped the lined images with black ink over the painted butterflies, and also paired my card with a sentiment from the Painted Inspiration stamp set. I finished off with some extra splatter from the leftover ink and added a few clear sequins for the last touch of sparkle.
Last up, I would like to share with you the new Halftone Stencil. I really love Altenew’s halftone themes! I created a blue to green ombre background with the halftone stencil with distress inks. I had this vision to pair them up with some whimsical flowers, and knew immediately I wanted to use the Hello Sunshine stamp set. This is genuinely one of my favorite Altenew stamp sets. It’s so whimsical and cute!
No masking was done to make this card. There’s no need! I colored the images with colors adjacent on the color wheel, so that there’s no clash with the background. In fact, the little hint of polka dots through the images make it look like they are slightly transparent. I just love the after effect. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in black in the top center of the card.
Hope you love all the different styles and uses of these new ink sprays and stencils! I can’t wait to see what you all create. All supplies used in today’s projects are listed below.
Next stop, Aimee!
