MFT April Release Countdown Day 4

Welcome back to MFT April Release Countdown Day 4, when we unveil Birdie Brown’s newest stamp and die set, Up in the Air. It is beyond adorable!

There’s so many options in this set! You may recognize some of Birdie Brown’s previous characters, paired with these darling hot air balloons for them to ride in. I am huge sucker for bears, so I decided to pick out the bear to ride the hot air balloon!

I stamped my images in hybrid ink and colored them with copic markers. I die cut everything with coordinating dies, except for my bear. I thought it would look a lot better without the white outline, so I fussy cut that one and adhered it to the large hot air balloon. You can barely even tell it was a separate stamp!

I created a simple blended background with Worn Lipstick, Tattered Rose, and Salty Ocean distress inks. I’ve never been on a hot air balloon ride, but this is how I’d imagine the horizon would look like if I was up there in a sweet mid afternoon.

For the layout of the card, I wanted the sentiment to be vertical, so I cut 2 thin strips of Natural card stock, one thicker, and heat embossed my sentiment on the top left in copper embossing powder. Bits of my scene extended past the vertical lines, so I die cut inlaid them. I just love the inlaid look as it gives it a nice clean finish. And that finihes up the card today!

There is so much cuteness in store for you in April’s line up. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for more release products and inspirations from participating design members. All release products will be available Tuesday, April 4th at 9pm EST at the MFT Store. See you tomorrow for more projects with the April release!

Absolutely beautiful card- the sky set a perfect setting for the trio of balloons and your message is emphasized by going up, up, up.

Wow!!. This card creates such an illusion. I actually thought the layers were laying on top of acetate with the sentiment vertical. Great design
