Happy Thursday! Over at Papertrey Ink, it’s time for Throwback Thursday and we’re showcasing the Doodlie-do Stamp and Die Set. The floral design of this set really reminded me of those large coloring books with incredible geometric lines and detail, and was incredibly therapeutic to color.
I didn’t think much while coloring, just grab whatever color I felt like going with at the time. To keep with the whimsical theme, I alternated colors, randomly selected sections of color blacks, and even started adding dotted embellishments with my white gel pen. Then, I die cut the flowers with the coordinating die set.
I kept the background quite simple by adding a soft blend of Lovely Lady dye ink and Bright Buttercup dye ink. I then added some black splatter with watercolors. I wanted the sentiment to stand out strongly against the flowers, so I heat embossed the sentiment from the stamp set onto black cardstock in white. I simply trimmed down the piece to a small rectangle.
I adhered flowers and sentiment with foam tape to give it just a hint depth. And that finishes up the card!
Be sure to check out the Papertrey Ink blog for more inspiration and featured projects using the Doodlie-Do stamps. I can’t believe it’s already the end of the month, which means, I better get crackin’ on those April projects. Eeks! Hope to you soon!
