Papertrey Ink

PTI Feature: Pen & Ink

Happy Easter Day! I hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend through the Easter holiday, whether it be time out with the family with kids hunting eggs, or spending Easter as a time of reflection and joy. The Papertrey Ink April Release just went live yesterday, and whether you’ve already placed an order, or just building that shopping cart, we have plenty of more inspiration in store for the next few days to help you with your choices!

Today I am featuring the new Pen & Ink stamp set designed by Nichole that has various beautifully handwritten sentiments.  I used one of my favorite sentiments in the set in today’s card to send some paper hugs!

The sentiment is really the star of the card today, but I did pair with another awesome die from this release called the Mix & Match: Scallop die that has that beautiful intricate lace pattern in the center that I die cut out of white cardstock. Then, I die cut the same scallop border, this time without the center lace pattern, on vellum paper. This gave me a spot to heat emboss my sentiment in gold right in the center of things and add just a slight mute to the busy background.

I wanted to pair my gold sentiment with some warm colors, so I blended a combination of Berry Sorbet and Summer Sunrise dye inks on white cardstock in alternating fashion. I added some splatter with the inks.

To put it all together, I used some very slim double sided tape, one strip bethind the sentiment, and two strips next to the top and bottom of the stitched line. The adhesives lines are barely noticeable behind the busy sentiment and along the lines!

You’ll be seeing this sentiment reappear in many of my cards as its so versatile, not to mention so pretty. Hope in enjoy today’s ounce of inspiration and will be coming back for plenty more!

Cheers,

Supplies

This is so pretty, I love the colors of the background and the lace detail in the middle covered by the vellum is so elegant.
