Hello! And welcome to my stop in the Altenew May 2017 Release Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Erum’s blog, however if you need a map, a full list of the blog hop is listed below.
How exciting it must have been to seen the full reveal of the May 2017 Release on the Altenew blog yesterday! I hope to inspire and help with some of your wish list decision in my projects today.
Let’s start with the new Halftone Everything sentiment set! I love the focus on the word ‘everything’ and all the various phrases associated with everything. I just had to match the halftone sentiment with the halftone stencil! Why not right? With the stencil, I blended in Dusk, Ocean Waves, and Sea Glass Altenew inks.
I then stamped the word ‘everything’ in Moon Rock Altenew ink, and die cut the word out with coordinating dies. I then heat embossed the remainder of the sentiment ‘you do rocks!’ in white embossing powder onto Navy Cardstock. Did you see the new Altenew embossing powders?
I adhered both pieces of my sentiment with foam tape for a little elevation, and intentionally slanted the 2nd line. Another card for my shortstacked masculine cards!
Next up, is the absolutely stunning Enchanted Iris stamp set. The detail of these flowers are just gorgeous. I stamped and then colored them with copic markers, and die cut them out of coordinating dies.
I kept the background simple by blending in Peacock Feathers and Broken China distress inks, finished with some splatter. The turqouise help bring out the purple iris.
I finished the card with the sentiment from the same stamp set, heat embossed in silver in the top right corner.
Last up is a card featuring the new Halftone Hearts stamp set. The design of this card was a bit experimental to me. I knew I wanted to create this fun background with these halftone hearts, but I wanted to also see how they layer when I stamped floral images on top of them!
I brought a classic Altenew stamp set, Painted Flowers, to work with my idea. I first stamped the outlined images in black, and then went back and stamped the leaves in Frayed Leaf and the flowers in Warm Sunshine inks. I then used the Warm Sunshine ink to add a little splatter to finish.
I wanted a large sentiment, so I also reached for another classic sentiment stamp set, Super Script, and stamped it in the same Lavender Fields ink that I used in one of my hearts. I die cut the word out with coordinating dies and adhered it to my card with foam tape.
Thank you for visiting the my stop in the hop! Head on over to your next stop, Eunyoung’s blog!
