It’s time for My Favorite Thing’s Wednesday Sketch Challenge #334! This week’s challenge is filled with potential and definitely a layout that I’ve used similarly in the past. It lends to scenes very well, which I love to create.
I love that I have a cloud stencil now and don’t need to constantly die cut some cloud shapes to create this type of background. I love how there are 4 sides to this stencil to help me vary the shapes of those clouds as well! I wanted to create a soft, warm sky, so I created my cloud background with Peach Bellini dye ink.
Just like the sketch, I die cut a white frame. Sometimes I don’t go back and look at the sketch and create the card by memory, so I used a square frame just one size larger than the one displayed in the sketch, but we’re close enough! Plus, having a larger frame allowed me to fit my sentiment and seagull all on the bottom line. I die cut the round bottom scalloped edge.
For the bottom area, I used a biscotti CS and stamped some striped background with kraft hybrid ink. Once I have my backgrounds adhered to the base card and I then stamped the sentiment in Milk Chocolate hyrbid ink directly onto my background. Then I adhered the frame and my seagull with foam tape.
As a final embellishment, I added some little hearts that I die cut out of Tickled Pink CS as if the seagull is sending off some love!
Hope you join us in this week’s sketch over on the MFT Card Challenges blog! You have until Tuesday, May 30, at noon EDT to participate and be eligible for the prize of $50 in MFT Cash to be spent in the MFT boutique. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!
