This month’s Papertrey Ink Make it Market Kit: Herb Garden is filled with everything you’ll need to create many different occassions. The stamps feature beautifully illustrated images of rosemary, thyme, parsley, and mint, paired with a few puns and what the herbs mean. My personal favorite part of this set is the two stencils that have brushlike edges.
I have a clean and simple card design for you today. I started with the rectangular stencil and blended an ombre of Lavender Moon and Winter Wisteria dye inks. I added some Winter Wisteria splatter. Then I heat embossed the sentiment ‘thyme’ in white and the remainder of the sentiment I stamped in Stormy Sea dye ink.
I stamped my herbs with some ombre stamping with various green and turqouise dye inks to get some interest in the leaves. Then I die cut with coordinating dies. The kit also comes with pre-printed images of the herbs if you are short on time to stamp your own images!
As a last minute touch, I used a warm gray copic multiliner to draw freehand lines across each side. If you’re one for very even straight lines, of course a ruler would be handy here, but I thought the freehand lines matched the sketchy edges of the stencil better!
I’ll be back soon for more projects!
