The Papertrey Ink July Release Week has started and today I will be sharing with you the new Stemmed Sentiment stamps and dies. This beautiful set has a variety of gorgeous flowers and sentiment for all sorts of occassions. I feature a different flower in each of my cards today!
Let’s start with poppies! I absolutely love watercolored poppies so I knew that’s exactly what I wanted to do. I heat embossed the same poppy multiple times to create a field look, leaving a space in between for my sentiment.
I then watercolored the entire piece, with a touch of splatter to finish. I then die cut the sentiment ‘Just because’ to finish the card.
For my next card, I wanted to keep it very clean. I love the new Mix & Mat: Postal Dies and I thought it would be fun to create a postage look for this card. I first die cut the postage frame, then masked off the edges before blending on some Blueberry Sky dye ink.
I then stamped the words ‘Love you’ and Mother’ in opposite corners, just like a postage stamp in True Black. For the image, I stamped them in True Black onto Stamper’s Select White and colored them with copic markers. I used a white gel pen to add some highlights to the images, and then die cut with coordinating dies.
I adhered the postage at an angle onto a simple, neutral colored pattern paper, and my flowers in the center of the postage with foam tape.
For my last card, I wanted to create a small bouquet to add the customizable “tie-on” tag that comes with the Stemmed Sentiment Dies. I stamped my images in True Black and colored the images with copic markers. I then added some details and highlights with a white gel pen.
I created a simple watercolor wash for the background. Once I decided how I wanted to arrange my flowers, I adhered them to my background with foam tape.
On black cardstock, I die cut the small tag, then heat embossed the sentiment ‘Take care’ in white. I then used some twine to tie it onto my bouquet, and adhered the tag to my card with foam tape so it wouldn’t fall off when the card is mailed.
These flowers are truly beautiful and there are so many variations you can work with. I especially adore the tie on tag with various sentiments and sayings that fit right on there. I hope you enjoy today’s projects!
