Krumspring Stamps 1 Year Anniversary Blog Hop

Hey there! Welcome to my stop for the Krumspring Stamps 1 Year Anniversary Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Mayline’s blog, but if you started here or got a little lost, there’s a full list of the blog hop participants at the bottom of the post.

Congratulations Maria on your 1 Year Anniversary! The first year flew by so fast, and I still remember the day I followed Maria’s instagram, in awe of her bright colors and use of triangles in all her cards before she even started her stamp shop. The triangles started it all, and look at how much it has grown. So incredible. And I’m so excited to be celebrating this milestone with her!

As part of this anniversary release, there are 8 new stamp sets available right now in the Krumpsring shop. There are cute koalas, more triangle designs, coffee, flowers, and so much more! The full release is amazing, but one stamp set especially caught my attention and it’s the one I used  in my card today, called Bloom. This giant branch with flowers is a coloring dream!

It most definitely deserves the certain of attention of the card, so I knew I had to pour my time into coloring it beautifully. I love opting for watercolor when it comes to flowers. I first heat embossed the floral image in gold. Then, I took out my Schmincke watercolor set and worked my way through each petal of the flower. If you look closely, I layered it with hues of pink, orange, and yellow.

After that was done, I did something I never personally done before and that is, fussy cut a negative. I’ve done this with coordinating dies before, but I realized I never fussy cut one before! I first cut out a panel of Natural card stock. Then I stamped the floral image onto the card so I knew where to fussy cut out the flower. Once that was done, I heat embossed my sentiment in gold along the edge.

Finally, I adhered the cut panel aligned against the flower and card edge with foam tape to finish the card.
