Here we go! It’s time for the My Favorite Things October Release Countdown! And guess what? We have tons and tons of amazing stuff packed into this release Winter is coming so you know that we’re going to be packing in tons of holiday themed products for your holiday crafting needs, so let’s get started!
Today I am sharing with a winter-themed card featuring our new set Polar Pals. These polar critters are oh-too-cute and I colored them all up instantly! My personal favorite is the penguin! I stamped them in Milk Chocolate Hyrbid Ink and colored them up with copic markers. Then, I die cut them all out with the coordinating Die-namics.
I didn’t realize this until I was starring at my own Instagram, but I have been obsessed with cool blue tones lately! I love blues and lots of whites in my holiday home decorating so I guess I started translating that onto my cards subconciously. Well, blended Faded Jeans and Broken China Distress Oxide inks for my background. Faded Jeans is totally my favorite color right now. Then, I heat embossed my sentiment ‘To a Brrr-fect Friend’ in the top right corner.
I die cut several snowflakes from the new Die-namics Let It Snowflake Too out of white card stock and adhered them all over the sky. I LOVE these snowflakes, and to make it even better, they die cut really well. I always get a little nervous with intricate dies, but I was so happy to find that these are easy to work with. I then added some white paint splatter to my background.
On watercolor paper, I blended a gradient of Broken Glass distress ink, spritz some water for distressing, and added some splatter. I wanted the texture of the paper and the distressing for the icey ground. I simply trimmed the piece rather use any die, as I wanted a nice flat surface to place all my characters on. I heat embossed a second sentiment ‘We’ll Always Be Pals’ in the bottom left corner in silver.
And finally, I assembled my scene an adhered them to my background with foam tape and liquid glue. Aren’t they the cutest pair? I love it! But you know what, the walrus pair in the stamp set is incredibly cute too and I’m saving them for some future projects! (Anyone reminded of Finding Dory?)
