Oh how I love the November Essentials Release for Ellen Hutson! I’m so excited to be joining the Ellen Hutson blog hop today to showcase this beautiful leading lady. You should have arrived here from Nichol’s blog. I will be sharing a project with you featuring this month’s set is called Photo Lady!
You may have seen a sneak peek of my card a little while ago on my instagram and now I can finally share the full project! I had so much fun coloring this girl with copic markers. I stamped her in Chocolate Brown hyrbid ink (copic-friendly ink), and after I colored her, I used a white gel pen to add some very little details, and then die cut her out with coordinating dies.
My original thought for the background was to imitate the camera. See the matching stripes similar to the our retro camera? I wanted to also create the lens and put the sentiment on it, but for some reason every time I attempted it, it didn’t come out the way I envisioned it, so eventually I thought it looked best with the circles. I used Pumice Stone and Black Soot distress inks here. Then I used the Black Soot to add some splatter.
I heat embossed my sentiment in white just to the left of her position. And lastly, I adhered her to my card with foam tape to get all the dimensions with her wearing the camera. Isn’t she so cute! I know we all have an inner photographer in us, especially when we’re taking photos of our projects all the time! And with fancy phones nowadays, who isn’t a photographer?
As mentioned earlier, this is a blog hop! So I’ve included the full list of hoppers below. Head on over to Laurel next!
