Welcome back to our second day in the Papertrey Ink February Release countdown! Today’s project features Irish Blessings by Lexi Daly, which a fun set offering several Irish blessing sentiments in both traditional and casual in nature. There’s also a matching die set, of course, and another stamp and die combo called Celtic Knots which follows the same design and look.
Whenever I see sentiments that come in a form a shape, I see an opportunity to stamp it as a pattern for the background! I like to start with the main one, the top center, then start repeating it, and also rotating it until I filled up the entire background. In the center of each, I also stamped the 4-leaf clover in the center of each. All the images were stamped in Simply Chartreuse ink over Spring Moss card stock.
I still wanted to bring focus to one of the circle sentiments so I die cut it out with the coordinating dies to separate it from the rest. I stamped another sentiment ‘an Irish Blessing’ in True Black in the center. I knew I wanted to give it a little vellum skirt so I die cut a larger circle out. Since we have a new mix and mat dies called Shape Shifters, I decided to use that instead! Perhaps a little bigger than how I initially envisioned it, but call me a little unorganized, I had no idea where my smaller circle scalloped die disappeared too! I really need to clean my craft room! Regardless, I do like using vellum to tone down the surroundings and to help whatever it is behind, stand out more. For final assembly, the background was adhered directly onto my base card, and the center circle was adhered with foam tape. I gotta prop something up per card or else I get a little crazy! See you tomorrow for another project with the new release!
