PTI Feature: Penned Elegance & Bold Borders Blooming

Welcome to the start of the Papertrey Ink release countdown! This is a very special month as we celebrate our 11th anniversary, and if you’ve been following along all month, you know we have tons and tons of celebrations, games, prizes, special customer appreciation, and of course a big, beautiful release just waiting for you the 15th. Today’s challenge of the day is an Egg Hunt! So be sure to look for them here and other DT projects scattered throughout their blogs.

I am starting off our first day of the countdown showcasing a few stunning products. We have the new Bold Borders: Blooming dies and the Penned Elegance stamp and die set combo. Penned Elegance is our first set from our newest product designer, Jennifer Campbell, and oh my goodness, this set has immediately moved to the top of my favorites. First of all, I always really admire handlettering and hers is just absolutely stunning! And, I love how there’s a coordinating die for each of the sentiments. Sentiments don’t get their own coordinating dies very often, but having them is absolutely wonderful as I can now lay them on top of images. I definitely could not have been able to fussy cut it the same way. It’s too detailed! So I love, love, love having the dies for this.

The other star of the card is the Bold Borders: Blooming. This is such a beautiful cover die. The borders covers an entire A2 card, but I decided to stop it in half and give it a wrapped look. I knew my teammies were already going to rock this as a frame, so I wanted to try something different! My initial instinct was to do a white on white look, I changed my mind and went with a very light blend of Simply Chartreuse inks from the edges inward. Just the touch of color helped the details of the frame stand out, and I still get to keep the very classy, soft look!

I positioned my sentiment at the bottom right. It is die cut and stamped in True Black. To just give a little extra touch of color, I die cut and stamped a Lillies of the Vale image from another new set, Florest Floor: Spring (more details in the coming days!) which I layered behind it. I used Lavender Moon and Green Parakeet dyes on that. The sentiment was adhered with foam tape.

Hope you enjoy today’s project! Be sure to tune in tomorrow for more projects and continue to celebrate with us for our 11th anniversary!

Penned Elegance was the first set I wanted while watching the sneak video. You used it beautifully on your card. And the addition of the single die cut of the Lily of the Valley is perfect. (Forest Floor: Spring is intriguing, too!)
