Welcome back! For Day 4 of the Neat & Tangled March Release, we introduce to you this little monster! Little Monster is our newest mini set this month by Elena, and he is just such a cutie! I always end up loving these little sets, and this one is definitely up there among the cutest.
When working with mythical creatures, I love to get a little extra creative with the coloring, so after I stamped the image with dark brown hybrid ink, I did a lot of ombre coloring with copic markers, including the sentiment ‘MONSTER’. I primarily wanted to work with orange, pink, and turqouise, but there is a little bit of light blue thrown in there as well. Once all the coloring was done, I die cut all the images out with the coordinating dies.
As I work on my release projects all in the same session, sometimes there are pieces of my previous projects that inspire me to add it to my project. That’s when I noticed I had these zig-zag strips left over from my die cut of the Squares and Chevrons cover plate and thought it would be a fun little design to add to the background. To bring this design out, I added some ink blending from the top and bottom edges with Peacock Feathers distress oxide inks. I added splatter with the same ink as well as splatter with white acrylic paint.
And finally, I stamped the smaller sentiments above and below where I planned to position the ‘MONSTER’ in black ink. Then adhered all my colored pieces onto the card with foam tape. I love how this card turned out! I need more little monsters! His smile just brings so much joy.
