Flora & Fauna A Magical Holiday

Have you seen the recent Flora & Fauna holiday release? Their whimsical, unique designs never seize to amaze me! I had the opportunity to work with their Woodland Snow Globe and Unicorn Ice Castle stamp sets and made a pair of clean and simple holiday cards!

Flora & Fauna sets are really great CAS designs! And with the amount of cards needed for the holidays, CAS is the way to go! The first idea I started with was to play with the Woodland Snow Globe set and mask off the snow globe and ink blend within it. I created a mask by fussy cutting the snow globe image out of post it. I then blended in Blueprint Sketch and Tumbled Glass distress oxide inks and added some white paint splatter. I colored the bottom portion of the snow globe with some copic markers. I stamped a few trees in the globe and the sentiment ‘christmas wishes’ right below it.

I then stamped the reindeer separately, colored him with copic markers, and fussy cut the image out. This image was added to my snow globe with foam tape. As I still am a little obsessed with dimension, I decided to elevate this entire panel with a stitched border and added it to the base card over craft foam.

I was really loving clean ink blended designs, so I decided to continue the trend for my second card. Instead, this time I used some post it tape to section off a smaller rectangular area, and blended on Seedless Preserves, Shaded Lilac, and Tumbled Glass distress oxide inks. I stamped the sentiment in the top right corner, and a few of the snowflake images into the blended area. Then, while it was still masked, I added white splatter for snow.

I stamped the ice castle and unicorn on a separate piece of card stock and colored them up with copic markers. Then I fussy cut the images out. I added them to the bottom of the rectangle with foam tape. And in similar fashion as the first card, I also elevated this panel by die cutting it with a stitched rectangle and adding it to a white base card over craft foam.

If you haven’t checked out the full Flora & Fauna holiday release, you should definitely do so!

    1. Thanks Cindi! I used white acrylic paint, but you can use anything like white watercolor paint, white gesso paint, etc. Just pick some up a brush and tap!
