Guessss what?? It’s time to start the My Favorite Things October Release Countdown. Oh what fun you’ll this month with the all the festive products!
All dog sets make me happy! If I haven’t said it enough, I love dogs! And the new Deck the Howls set is right up my alley. I stamped a few in Milk Chocolate hybrid ink and colored them up with my copic colors. I also had a little fun using my white gel pen to add some fun details. And then I die cut all the images out with the coordinating dies. The bulldog with the ornament tree headband is my favorite!
I stuck with a simple design here, and ink blended a background with Evergreen Bough and Peacock Feathers. I gave it a sprinkle of water to give it that distressed interest. Another favorite in this release is the Hand-Lettered Holiday Greetings stamp set! I love everything handlettered, and even more when they are big sentiments! I stamped this large sentiment in the top center with Versamark ink and heat embossed it in white.
I still wanted to have a punny sentiment attached to this card, so I picked out another sentiment from Deck the Howls to pair up with the ‘Happy Christmas’. For this portion, I heat embossed it in white onto Wild Cherry card stock and then die cut it out with a thin sentiment fishtail strip from Blueprints 27. This was added right below the large hand lettered sentiment with foam tape. I also added a little bone above the hand lettered sentiment with foam tape, and it made the whole thing look like a tree with its triangular shape.
I grabbed the wavy die from the Take the Stage Die-namics (totally because I couldn’t locate my stitched edge, but the wavy edge was a nice detail) to give my pups a ground. I used kraft card stock. I added this to the card, and then my dogs right onto it with foam tape. Simple but totally adorable!
