My Favorite Things

MFT Color Challenge 108

Hey there! There’s a new My Favorite Color Challenge today! It’s been a while since I last created a project for the bi-weekly color challenges, so it was fun to partake in this one. I’ve always been very particular about my color choices, so participating in these can be extra challenging for me when the colors are picked out for me. Nevertheless, I really liked this color scheme!

I immediately saw the After Midnight and Tropical Teal being very “blendable”. I didn’t have those ink colors on hand, so I used Chipped Sapphire and Peacock Feathers as my substitutes to get as close to those as possible. With those two colors, I blended a fun pattern background using the Moroccan Mosaic stencil.

I lined up the stencil on each of the four corners and blended the colors inward towards the center. I was careful not to overlap the design. I added some light splatter with the Chipped Sapphire ink.

On a separate piece of white card stock, I blended the Chipped Sapphire so that I had a matching color card stock to die cut the word ‘beautiful’ out of. That was done using the Beautiful Die-namics. The outline was die cut out of white card stock, then I layered them together.

For part two of the sentiment, I used the Hello, Beautiful stamp set. I heat emboosed the words in white onto Cement Gray card stock and trimmed it down to a thin strip. The sentiment was then added to the card using foam tape.

As a final embellishment, I used the Liquid Mercury Nuvo Drops to add a few dots for interest to the card. I set the piece down to dry, and then in the end mounted it down a top fold vertical A2 white card base to complete this card.
