Waffle Flower January 2019 New Release Blog Hop + Giveaways

Hey there! I’m so excited to be here with you today to share cards I’ve made with the brand new Waffle Flower January 2019 Release! Oh, you’re going to love this release!

My first card features the new Big Bear & Bird illustrated stamp set called Group Hug. I follow a lot of illustrators on Instagram, and Big Bear & Bird have always been a favorite of mine, so when I found out that Waffle Flower brought her on board last year as a stamp illustrator, I was an instant fan! Every set she designs is just adorable and just filled with warm fuzzies.

The stamp set focuses on this big group of animals giving the bear a hug. It is such a sweet image and perfect way to send hugs to anyone who needs one! It’s a large image so it covers most of the card. I stamped it in a dark brown hybrid ink and colored it with copic markers, then die cut it out with the coordinating dies.

I gave the background a simple ombre of Broken China and Tumbled Glass distress oxide inks. I stamped the large word HUGS in the the same dark brown hybrid ink on the background and over the image. I heat embossed the top and bottom sentiment in white onto Autumn Rose card stock and used the coordinating dies to die cut the rectangular strips. All were added with foam tape.

This next card showcases the cute new mini stamp set by Flora Waycott called Spice Pot. I’m a fan of Flora’s whimsical style and her floral images are always so beautiful! I stamped both the spice pot and the sentiment from the stamp set in dark brown hybrid ink and colored it with copic markers. There are no coordinating dies for this image, so I opted to frame it instead.

I layered several pattern papers from the Pinkfresh Studio Be You Paper Pack to create a layout to compliment my colored image. I also used some kraft card stock and blended the edges with some Gathered Twig distress oxide inks to give it a more rustic look.

I also added some twine to the card to give this a more homemade feel and then finished it off with some of our new Waffle Flower enamel dots.

In addition to today’s cards, I have a couple more created for the Waffle Flower January 2018 release using the Favorite Valentine and Magnolia sets. To be able to share more details with you, I thought it be best to spread it across separate blog posts, so be sure to tune back here next week. Sneak peeks below!
