Hey there! I’m back today to share another Waffle Flower project that I’ve created for the January 2019 release. The feature set showcased today is called Magnolia, illustrated by a new designer, Karla Jodain (@lovekdesigns). Her talent for floral illustration is so incredibly detailed and beautiful.
This floral is great for coloring with any kind of medium. Here I chose to use my copic markers. I stamped the image in a dark brown hybrid ink, colored it with copic markers, and then die cut the main flower out with the matching die.
Rather than have every part of the flower colored, I decided to go for a vintage look. I stamped the main image in the center on kraft card stock, and used the remaining stamp sets (i.e. stems, buds, etc.) to fill up the rest of the background. I then blended Gather Twig on the edges of the card and the images to enhance that vintage look. For some extra texture, I also sprinkled on some white paint.
I also stamped the sentiment from this stamp set in the same dark brown hybrid ink. die cut it out with the matching die, and inked the edges. I added the floral center and the sentiment onto the card with foam tape. I then used the pink (My Pleasure) enamel dots from Up & Running around the flower for final touches.
