Mama Elephant Picnic With Friends

The pop up box card continue to be one of my favorite type of interactive cards to make! To me, it’s almost an extension to my scene cards as I can have even more dimensional options than my foam tape can’t give me. So, I love bringing these to life!

It’s been cold and rainy here in Southern California (I’m spoiled, I don’t know cold weather!). But I’m still brimming with inspiration of a bright and sunny day, so I took out my Picnic with Friends stamp set to create this outdoor scene. I stamped the images in a dark brown hybrid ink and colored them with copic markers. The images were then die cut out with the Pic with Friends Coordinating Cuts.

The 3D Pop Up Card CC is what I used to create the box card structure. I die cut the large box panel twice out of Neenah Desert Storm card stock, the long grass layers 3 times out of white card stock, and each of the top panels out of white card stock. Each of the white die cuts were then ink blended to add color to the grass in Mowed Lawn and Forest Moss, and the sky in Peacock Feathers and Antique Linen.

I continued to add some more items to the scene, like the white fence to the sides and the bush in the background using the extra scene building dies in the 3D Pop Up Card CC. I also added some interest by blending light radiating rays using a stencil to the back panel. The front panel is where I added my sentiment from the Friendship Sentiments set.
