Waffle Flower March 2019 New Release Blog Hop + Giveaways

Wow, February flew by so quickly! It’s time for the Waffle Flower March 2019 release and there’s so much to share. And as always, we celebrate release day with a blog hop filled with tons of inspiration and giveaways!

I have so many projects to share with you today cause I couldn’t stop! Let’s start with my favorite one featuring the new Bouquet Builder 3. This stunning 5×7 set by Karla Jodoin is absolutely gorgeous! The full bouquet is a bit larger than an A2 size card, so its beauty fills up the entire area.

I stamped it in a black hybrid ink and colored it with copic markers and colored pencils. Then, I used the matching dies to die cut it out. The dies even cut in the spaces in between the flowers! Next, I heat embossed the words on black card stock, and again used the matching dies to die cut the words out.

I created a deep purple ombre background to coordinate with my bouquet. I grounded the bottom by adding some striped pattern paper across, then added the bouquet with foam tape. The sentiment was added last to the very front.

The illustrator Karla Jodoin is unique in that her images stand out beautifully as black and white, as you can see through her Instagram feed @lovekdesigns. So, I decided to create a quick card in that black and white style.

I stamped the image in black onto white card stock. Then, with the matching dies, I die cut a window with the dies such that the image looks sunken in. On this black panel, I also added some white paint splatter.

I kept the simplicity and heat embossed the words ‘happy birthday’ in gold right onto the floral image. Then added my black panel over foam tape for the last step.

Prefer to just stamp and not color? Then the new XOXO set might be right up your alley! The solid individual images of this set allow you to build your own floral arrangement. I used my Altenew inks here to stamp the various flowers and foliage from the set and did some ombre inking to get the gradients in the stamped images. Then, each image was die cut with the matching dies.

My background was ink blended from right to left, then I overlaid the die cut pattern using the Tile Panel Die on white card stock. On the horizonal strip, I heat embossed the sentiment ‘XOXO’ in silver then arranged my flowers around it with foam tape. I added some Nuvo drops as a final embellishment to the floral centers and surrounding area.

Aren’t these new floral sets beautiful? The Waffle Flower March 2019 release includes 5 new stamp sets and 7 dies, which means there’s more projects I’d like to share with you later featuring the dapper Be Him set from Big Bear & Bird and gorgeous Lilac Dreams from Oana Befort. How about some sneak peeks below?
