Sunny Studio Stamps Fabulous Flamingos

Have you checked out the Sunny Studio Stamps Summer 2019 release? It is such a cute and fun one! It’s got me all excited for the beach season, and hopefully *cross my fingers* the weather will be not warm, but not too hot. I am so happy to be guesting with Sunny Studio Stamps again and featuring their adorable set called Fabulous Flamingos.

There are four flamingos in this set and I stamped all of them! I used a dark brown hybrid ink and colored them with copic markers, then used the matching dies to die cut them out. I had recently purchased a lot of chunky glitter, so I’ve been itching to use them in a shaker card, so this felt like the perfect project to do so!

To do so, I needed a frame to enclose a shaker area, so I used the Frilly Frames Chevron Dies to to create the large outed pinked edge, and then a smaller sized rectangle from A2 Layers to die cut an inside opening.

I ink blended a background with Evergreen Borough, Broken China, and Antique Linen, then heat embossed the sentiment in silver in the top center. I added a foam barrier with my foam tape to encase all the shaker components, and then sealed it off with a piece of acetate and the white frame I’ve created previously.

I can finally add my cute flamingos to the card and did so with foam squares. Isn’t the shaker pieces so pretty? Since it’s a mix of glitter and sequins, it sits like sand at the bottom when the card is standing. Shake it up and you see it shine behind the flamingos!

My next card features another die that I really adore from this release called Fluffy Clouds. The die comes as stitched only or as stitched clouds, and I’ve used both on this card to create a fun day time sky!

This time I also inked up and colored the foliage from the Fabulous Flamingos set. Love that I can use them to add a fun tropical feel to the card.  I blended the background as if there was water at the bottom and sky at top, and laid the leaves across the water’s edge.

Below the leaves, I heat embossed my sentiment ‘happy summer’ in white. And finally added my three flamingos to the card with foam tape right above the leaves. Just looking at this card as I’m writing this, I can see that if I mirrored the leaves and ink blending above the flamingos, it would look pretty awesome too! Hope you enjoyed a little summer inspiration and see you next time!
