Hello and welcome to the Waffle Flower May 2019 New Release Blog Hop! I have many projects packed into today’s post so we’re going to jump right into it, starting with the gorgeous new floral set called Wild Roses.
I always appreciate large floral images as they are much easier to work with and gorgeous centerpieces for a card. I had stamped mine in a brown hybrid ink and colored it with copic markers. I used the matchines dies to die cut it out.
I kept the card clean, so I masked off a diagonal line across a white panel and ink blended on one side. I used the Be Her Sentiments for the ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ sentiment and added my flowers to the card along the daigonal line with foam tape. I added some Nuvo Dream Drops for a little extra embellishment. You know where this card is going! 🙂
This month JJ brings us a really fun Cake Panel Die. This die great to make quick and easy birthday cards, but if you want to take it a notch further, you can create a really fun shaker card! I simply die cut the panel out of bristol board and ink blended the cake portion. The cake topper was die cut out of gold mirror card stock.
Behind it I ink blended a blue panel and used two layers of foam tape to seal off the shaker area. I have been trying out glitter a lot recently as my shaker component, and it definitely adds a lot of glam to it!
I had some fun with this card featuring the new set called Oyez. This is part of illustrator Kamo’s newest series featuring cities around the world. I have never been to London but I definitely have seen pictures, movies and even watched the royal weddings on tv. I always see these soldiers standing in perfect uniform in front of the palace so I decided to stamp a few of them as my card focus.
The unique feature of this card is probably the background. I had ink blended the top half and then used the same ink to stamp a pattern using the various images in the set. It was simple and fun to do!
My last card features the new mini set this month called Wedding Day, also illustrated by Kamo. This is a super sweet set perfect to create wedding cards with. I die cut the heart out of masking paper and ink blended radially to create my background for this lovely couple.
With the pair centered in the heart, I surrounded them with some doves and rose borders. The doves are from the Wedding Day set, however the roses were borrowed from the Favorite Valentines set. Fun fact, I used my wedding colors (navy blue and rose) as the inspiration for the color palette of this card!
