Have you seen this month’s Spellbinders Large Die of the Month? This month’s large die features a 3D Fun Time Cruiser die, absolutely perfect for creating fun 3D bicycles (that also fold so that it fits inside an A2 envelope!) or can be also used as 2D for normal handmade cards!
I had opted to use this bike as a 2D images for my card today add some small details outside of the “normal” instructions for this die to inspire some ideas for you! I had die cut all the pieces in soft colors (lilac, purple, blue, grey, kraft, and white). Because I’m working on a 2D image, I die cut the same handle twice to build the dimension. I also die cut the petals twice to add the look of another petal on the other side.
I used my paper trimmer to cut out a basket for the front of the pike and used the weave impression die on it. I die cut several flowers to filll up this basket and then used Buttermilk Nuvo drop to the center of each flower.
My background is ink blended with Chipped Sapphire, Stormy Sky, and Tumbled Glass. I love to ink splatter with the same inks and some white paint for texture. I trimmed down this panel to about 3″ by 5.5″ and heat embossed a sentiment in silver towads the top.
Once my inked panel was done and the bike was glued down, I then mounted it over a piece of pattern paper with some foam tape. I picked out a very simple and lightly lined pattern paper from my open stash.
Be sure to check out the product page for more incredible inspirations using this die. The 3D one is so fun and you can even add cute critters in the basket too! This kit will be available through July 31st while supplies last.
