I’m a little late to the party but there’s still time to check out the Spellbinders Large Die of the Month and it’s adorable! This month’s die is called Game of Gnomes (get it?….like Game of Thrones), but instead of a throne of 1,000 swords, how about a large throne made of a mushroom!
Can you tell that there was A LOT of ink blending going on here? Haha. Everything on this card except the sentiment was made with the dies in this month’s large dies! Most of it was die cut out of white card stock and then ink blended or colored in with copic markers.
My favorite part of making the card is definitely the mushrooms. I ink blended each one with Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Tea Dye, and Antique Linen distress oxide inks. I also added some extra speckles to create texture with just watercolor paints and a brush. The little pieces of grass and several parts of the gnome was colored in with copic markers.
Look at this little guy! I had him jumping high in the air with lots of excitement! The background was ink blended with Broken China, Tumbled Glass, Antique Linen, and Bundled Sage.
I wanted a simple sentiment and went with this cute “hi!” from the Mama Elephant Puffy Holiday Greetings stamp set. It’s stamped in a dark brown ink and fussy cut out. It fit nicely next to the little gnome to complete the card.
There’s still time to purchase this month’s LDOM for $27.50 before the set is individually sold at it’s full value of $40!
