Do you want to build a snow man? All the Mama Elephant critters are out to play and they are all ready to build some Snow Friends! I know many of you like me love building scene cards, and the Snow Friends set is absolutely perfect for that and more.
I started by stamping the images in a dark brown hybrid ink and colored them with copic markers. I couldn’t pick a favorite so I colored every one of them, but a few will be saved for another card next week. I used the coordinating creative cuts to die cut the images out. You may have also spotted a few extra birds in my scene, and these images are from the Trim the Tree stamp set.
Released this month is also a new cover plate die called Winte Forest Cover. I love this die and it’s perfect if you want to be able to create quick and easy scenes, as many of you know how long it takes to make such cards sometimes! This die cuts the birch barks, the snow drift, and a white frame around the card, and I used it just with white card stock.
If you don’t have a lot of time a simple color card stock behind the scene would suffice, but if you want to take it to the next level, you can also ink blend like what I did here. I used Black Soot, Blueprint Sketch, and Broken China distress oxide inks. I also added another layer of snow die cut with the Landscape Trio CC to just some additional dimension, and then splattered white paint over the background to imitate snow.
For my sentiment, I used the Joy Halo Script. The “halo” outline was die cut out of vellum and the ‘joy’ was die cut out of gold mirror card stock. Below it is also a small sentiment ‘be merry’ that comes from the Mini Merry Messages and is heat embossed in white onto red card stock.
