Are you excited to see all the inspirational projects with the Altenew October 2019 Release? I am just excited about hopping along and seeing everyone’s projects today as I am about sharing mine! If you’ve followed me work for some time, you may have heard me talk about how much I love working with stencils. It probably is no surprise given how much I love to ink blend! But I especially love stencils because it adds an extra layer of quality and uniqueness to my ink blending that I wouldn’t be able to achieve any other way!
Seriously, how lovely is this Rose Bouquet Stencil I used here? This may be favorite product in this release! I have ink blended this with Altenew dye inks Coral Bliss, Pink Pearl, Parrot and Bamboo with a oval makeup brush. I did not bother masking, but was careful around areas where the green and pink may overlap to avoid too much “muddy” colors.
For my sentiment, I used the Super Script stamp set and stamped the large hello in ombre colors of Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart, and Purple Wine dye inks. I heat embossed the words “just to say” in white on to Desert Storm card stock and trimmed it down to a thin strip.
The sentiments were layered on with foam adhesive to give it a beautiful dimension. Before I adhered it to my ink blended background, I also added some gold thread for some interest. I haven’t done this for awhile, and the swirly flowers reminded me of it!
This next card showcases the Leaves & Berries Stencil, which is another beautiful one. I would say the stencil work appears more subtle in pictures, but I assure you the dimensions and shine from the glitter paste is so beautiful in person!
After the first card, I was definitely in a light and airy mood, so I continued with my soft yet bright colors. This time I used my distress oxide inks and I went with Mowed Lawn, Bundled Sage, and Antique Linen colors to create this radial glow. Then, I laid my stencil over the ink blended background and used my spatula to apply Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste all over it. I prefer to air dry, so I let the background dry over a few hours.
I added a simple ‘thank you’ to the center of the card that was made by die cutting the words using the Simply Thank You Die three times and layering them together for thickness. Then I simply added this to the card with some adhesive.
