Spellbinders October Glimmer and Large Die of the Month

This month’s Spellbinders October Glimmer and Large Die of the Month products is all about fall! These kits are so beautiful and perfect for making autumn thank you cards. And if you love both kits, they also coordinate extremely well with each other!

Let’s take a closer look at the Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month project on the left. THis month’s set is called Sunset Harvest and it also includes a Copper Foil Roll. I really love this copper glimmer foil, because it gives off a beautiful classic shine while not being overly obnoxious. I used it to foil the pumpkins and foiliage images in this set with my Glimmer Hot Foil System and die cutting machine, and then die cut each image out with their coordinating die.

My images were colored in with copic markers. It does appear that the foil resists the copic markers, so even though I color over the lines, the shine is still there and looks great! So I was really happy with that because I love using my copic markers.

I kept the background simple with a ink blended background created with Broken China and Tumbled Glass distress oxide inks. I also used my paints to give a light splatter for interest. I added my foiled colored images to the card with foam adhesive, and finished off the card with a few Pinkfresh Studio jewels.

This next card features the Large Die of the Month called Fall Flora. It is a gorgeous set that dies cut all these gorgeous viney shapes and also flowers and berries that you can layer on. It also comes with a center plate piece that you can add the sentiment ‘thanks’ on. I only used dies from this month’s set on my card.

So I die cut all my foliage and floral pieces out of white card stock, and then ink blended them with distress oxide inks Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Fossilized Amber, and Aged Mahogany. These colors gave off a rustic autumn feel. In the center of each white flower, I added a center using the Nuvo Gold Luxe Dream Drop.

In the center, I die cut the larger sized shape out of a burgundy card stock and the smaller sized shape out of a pineapple card stock. The ‘thanks’ was die cut out of white card stock and added to the center.

The background panel sized at 4″ x 5.25″ was ink blended with Vintage Photo and Antique Linen distress oxide inks and lightly splattered with Vintage Photo. I layered behind it a gray diagonal striped pattern paper. I added the center piece with the sentiment onto the background and the floral and foliage wrapping around the frame.
