Altenew November 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop

Yippee! It’s time for the Altenew November 2019 Release! There’s quite a mix of products in this release including floral sets, holiday sets, stencils, and standalone dies as well. I decided to play with some of the floral sets in this release and show you how I mixed them with some stencil work to create my dynamic layouts for my flowers!

This card feaures the new layered stamp set called Regal Beauty. It’s definitely fits the regal description, don’t you agree? It’s been awhile since I used blue tones for my flowers so I decided to do so here. The flowers were stamped in Dew Drops, Aqualicious, Teal Cave, and Galactic Stream. The leaves were stamped in Parrot, Olive, and Moss. All images were then die cut with their matching dies.

With an idea of where there flowers were going to be planted, I had stamped the small little leafery onto a piece of white card stock. These were stamped in Moss dye ink. I further extended out the foliage by using the Rose Bouqet Stencil and blending in Bamboo and Parrot ink over it on various edges of the card.

I heat embossed this simple sentiment from Handpicked Bouquet in gold. I added a gentle splatter of white paint and smooshed Moss ink for a little extra interest.

This next card has a much more whimsical and sweet look. For this card, I am showcasing the new Wave Outlines Die Set. I used the die twice, once out of gold mirror card stock to get the pretty outlines, and again out of white card stock that I ink blended with distress oxide inks and inlaid back into the outline.

Okay, so now what? (This is when I have a huge creative pause as to what I want to even do with these pretty flowers!) I decided to go country feel and created a plaid look with some stencil and ink blending work again. I used the Classy Stripes Stencil and ink blended Broken China Distress Oxide ink over it. To get the criss-cross, you’ll want to repeat the ink blending again in the opposite direction. I also used some scallop dies to add some details to the top and bottom edges.

I always like to stack my sentiment die cuts for dimension. Here I’ve used the Fancy Thanks Die and die cut it out of white card stock four times. I ink blended the top layer with the same oxide colors.  The flowers were added first, and then the sentiment in the center last.
