First post of 2020 and first Waffle Flower release this year! Woot woot! I hope ya’ll had a fantastic holiday week (or weeks) and was able to enjoy that time with friends and family. I took the opportunity to truly have a full break from work, crafting, and even off of social media to get rested and energized for the new year. Can’t say I’m fully ready to ramp things back up, but I definitely feel a lot more refreshed!
What better way to start the year with some rainbows!
I filled up each “well” with some iridescent sequins and closed up the shaker with a sheet of acetate and my last die cut of the Fresh Rainbow panel with the sentiment on it to seal it off. I added a few jewels around the sentiment to complete the card.
This next card features one of the the newest sets illustrated by Cassie Loizeaux called Love You Bunnies. It features these two sweet bunnies facing each other and various accessories to dress them up with. I picked up the accessories to create a sweet wedding card. All images were stamped in a dark brown hybrid ink, colored with copic markers, and cut out with the matching dies.
I went for a simple layout for the card by die cutting a large postage shape using the Nesting Postage die. I used masking take to mask the edges and did some simple ink blending to the background with Broken China, Old Paper, and Tumbled Glass. I stamped the sentiment ‘ sweet heart love you” towards the bottom and mounted it in the center of some pattern paper. I added the bunnies last with foam tape.
JJ Bolton brings us the newest set in her Oversized series called Oversized Love. To accompany this large sentiment focal point, I used the Hearts Panel die out of white card stock that I’ve ink blended with Worn Lipstick and Antique Linen distress oxide inks. I added this over my white card base with foam tape for a little extra dimension.
I die cut the Oversized Love out of gold mirror card stock and a couple extra layers out of white card stock to add dimension. I used the Oversized Love stamp set to heat embossed the sentiment ‘just the way you are’ in white onto black card stock and trimmed it down to a thin strip. I added the ‘love you’ in the center’ and the sentiment strip right below it with foam tape.
I saved the best for last! (Also the one that took me the longest, cause look at all the coloring I did!) These flowers are from Karla Jodoin’s newest floral set called Blossoms. Her large florals are always so fun to color! With Spring coming up, I brought out a colorful combination to work with. The image was colored with copic markers and die cut with the matching dies.
I have a background that was ink blended with Broken China, overlaid by a Sweet Scallops panel die cut out of white card stock where the sentiment from Blossoms was stamped. I cut my colored image in half, adding half of it stemming from the top and the other from the bottom.
