Hey ya’ll! It’s time to join the hop for the fabulous Altenew January Stamp/Die/Stencil Release! I got a big post for you today and lots of inspiration using products from this month’s release. Without further ado, let’s check them out!
My favorite stamp set from this month’s release is this gorgeous floral set called Simple Beauty. It’s a set that comes with both the outlined and layered images. The smaller flowers that I used in the background is only outline, and works really nicely as an extension of the focal floral image.
For my main flowers, I used the blues from the Tranquility Oval Set to stamp my layers, and for the greens I used Forest Glades and Evergreen inks. I stamped the outline in black and then stamped the center of the flowers with Versamark ink and heat embossed it in gold. I stamped the outline stamp of the smaller flowers in the top left and bottom right corners in black, and added my die cut flowers in the center with foam tape.
The sentiment word die cut here is also part of this month’s release and is called Hello and Hugs Die Set. It cuts both the sentiment and a halo for it and I cut the sentiment in gold mirror card stock and the halo in white card stock. The halo allows the words to stand out clearly in front of the images and I added it right in the center.
I liked the Simple Beauty so much I created another version of the card with similar techniques and products. This time around I used the smaller floral image stamped in black a lot more, filling up a good portion of the bottom right triangle and just a partial stamp in the top left corner.
The flowers here is once again stamped in blues from the Tranquility Oval Set and the leaves were stamped in greens Forest Glades and Evergreen. This time I only used one for my focal point and added it with foam tape.
I used the Hello and Hugs Die Set again this time die cutting the word in white and the halo in black. I also used the matching Hello and Hugs Stamp Set to heat emboss another portion of the sentiment in white on black card stock. I trimmed it down to a thin strip and added it right above the ‘hugs’.
Belive it or not, my third card once again uses the same products as the first two and with an addition of window created with the Rounded Rectangles Die Set. So starting with a piece of white card stock, I stamped this swirly image from Simple Beauty all over the background with Evening Gray ink.
I then used the Rounded Rectangles Die Set to die cut a window in the bottom left. Behind it I have a layer that I have ink blended with Stormy Sky and Spruced Ice distress oxide inks. And there is a layer of craft foam added between these layers to give it dimension.
I used the Hello and Hugs Die Set one more time (can you tell I love this sentiment set?) die cutting the word in white and the halo in grey. Our sentiment is the focal point this time! I used the matching Hello and Hugs Stamp Set to heat emboss the second part of the sentiment in white onto gray cardstock, trimmed it down to a strip and gave it a slanted edge. I added the hello with foam tape in the window and the sentiment strip right below it.
