Altenew Build-A-Flower: Triumph Tulip Release Blog Hop

This month’s Altenew Build-a-Flower is the Triumph Tulip! Tulips make me think of Spring, and Easter. They are such cute, colorful flowers, and I always find them very clean and proper. They stand tall and with such straight form. I’m more a wildflower kind of girl, so I admit it’s not a flower I naturally gravitate to, but I have to admit this month’s set is really gorgeous. It has that triumphant look as its name suggests and I love it!

As always, I start by stamping the layered flowers first. For the tulips, I used the Altenew inks Butternut, Pumpkin Pie, Yellow Ochre, and Sicilian Amber. For the leaves, I stamped them in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, and Evergreen. And for the little flowers, I used Aqualicious ink and added some ombre inking with Teal Cave. All the images were then die cut with the coordinating dies.

For the background, I ink blended it with Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio distress oxide inks. The background complimented the yellows and matched closely to the turqouise flowers too! I stamped the sentiment in Permanent Black Crisp Ink in the top left corner.

I arranged my stamped pieces to blossom from the bottom right area. I varied the use of liquid adhesive and foam tape to create some dimensions with the layers. The yellow tulips really came out spectacularly!
