The Zodiac Snake is the 6th animal in the Chinese Zodiac rotation, and also my mom’s zodiac! I will definitely be incorporating this Zodiac Snake in my next card to her and Mother’s Day is just around the corner. But for today, I’ve used a collection of them in a great any day kind of card.
Coloring these snakes were very funt o do! I stamped my images in a dark brown hybrid ink and colored them with copic markers. When it comes to reptiles, I love using a dotting technique to give its skin some texture. I also used a white gel pen to add even more spots!
I also colored a lot of apples! I created a scene with the die cuts available in Display a Card Creative Cuts. I thought it would be cute to make them apple trees, and have these snake friends be enjoying some apples on a nice bright day. So, I die cut all the pieces with color card stock and ink blending them to add some more enhanced shading.
After I put the scene together, I stamped the sentiment from added the Picnic With Friends and added plenty of apples in the trees, fallen on the ground, and for the snake! Aren’t they adorable? The minature balloon version of them gets me every time. Hope you enjoy today’s inspiration and I’ll be back on Wednesday!
