My dear dragon and snake zodiac friends, your zodiac sets are here! This month’s sets along with the new zodiacs are as cute as can be, so you haven’t already stop by the shop to check them out. Today I will be sharing a project focused on the Zodiac Dragon set.
In many of the Chinese folk tales that I grew up to read, the dragon is considered the most powerful and flies up high in the sky. They are viewed as a godlike creature and often a symbol used by emperors. With some recollection of these stories, I was inspired to create a scene with my dragons high up in the clouds where the mountains are so tall they poke through the sky!
I colored my dragons along with all the items they are holding with copic markers, then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out. I created this scene with the Cloudy Day Cover CC cutting out the top half of the cloud layers to leave it open for more scene building. I blended each of the cloud layer with Tea Dye distress oxide ink.
For my background, I first blended a sky with distress oxide inks and stamped it with a large sentiment ‘Wishing you’ with Versamark ink and heat embossing it with white embossing powder. I used the Snow Capped Mountains in the background die cut out of Desert Storm and white card stock and added this at a height right below the clouds would end.
After adding all the layers to my scene together, I added the dragons with foam tape. I also added a second line of the sentiment which is also part of the Wishing You stamp set and heat embossed it on a soft green card stock, trimmed down, and added right below it with foam. This completes the card!
