The Waffle Flower March 2020 Release is now live and I’m excited to finally share all the cards I’ve made with this fun release in today’s release blog hop! It’s a jam packed post so let’s get started!
I love the large, beautiful floral sets that Waffle Flower releases every month, and this month we have the Tulips Combo illustrated by Karla Jodoin. This set features two different arrangements of tulips and have complimentary sentiments for the upcoming Mother’s day.
I stamped the image in hybrid ink and colored it with copic markers. The image was die cut with the matching die. I created a simple layout for the card using the Additional A2 Layers dies, a larger rectangle in a soft grey card stock and a smaller one that I’ve ink blended and stamped the sentiment on.
These basic nesting dies are such a staple for cardmaking! And I love that Waffle Flower released additional ones to cover every 1/16″. Here I used the Additional Squares dies to create this fun rainbow design. I definitely got great use of my scrap bin here!
I used this design to bring focus to a large sentiment focal point. This large ‘hello’ sentiment is die cut using the Oversized Hello Word die that was die cut out of white card stock three times and layered together. I added some white paint splatter and Stardust Enamel Dots to complete the look.
Last month, we released the first of many critter dies designed by Big Bear & Bird, and this month we release another featuring the Be a Unicorn. This die makes it really easy to make a quick and adorable card with minimal coloring. I like to use some light ink blending to add shading to the critter, and the only coloring I did here was some quick scribbing for the rainbow hair.
I used the Additional Ovals dies to make a simple frame for my unicorn to sit in and backed it with a simple watercolor pattern paper. This sentiment comes from the Jars Sentiments Stamp Set, heat embossed in white on pink card stock, and trimmed to a thin strip.
I saved the best for last! Being a big dog person, I couldn’t help but LOVE this set so much! This is the Puppy Power Combo designed by Big Bear & Bird. It’s a huge group of dogs, but such fun to color. I colored it all up with copic markers.
I didn’t want to lose any part of the image so I made sure I gave it plenty of focus and space. I added some simple ink blending to the background and stamped the sentiment in the center. I added some borders die cut out of kraft card stock using the Lacy Layers A7 dies to the top and bottom. Seeing all these happy pups makes me happy!
