Hi friends! I’m guesting with My Favorite Things this month and I bring you inspiration with the newest Stacey Yacula set called Sky High! I love building scenes, and when my ideas don’t quite fit in the conventional A2 sized card, I love expanding my canvas by making a larger slimline sized card that still fits in a #10 envelope!
I’ve stamped my images from SY Sky High in Milk Chocolate hybrid ink and colored them up with copic markers. I then used the matching Die-namics to die cut all the images out.
I used my paper trimmer to cut down a sheet of white card stock down to 3.5″ by 8.5″. I then used the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil to ink blend a warn cloudy sky with Tea Dye and Victorian Velvet distress oxide inks.
I heat embossed the large sentiment Recipe for Life in gold embossing approximately in the bottom center, and then built my scene around it with all my colored images. I added them with foam tape for a little extra dimension.
Isn’t so fun to have an extended scene? I love the additional space!
In case you didn’t know, My Favorite Things is running a fantastic sale right now for 33% off sitewide with the code SAVE33 for in-stock products, excluding the new release. But, that’s a lot of great stuff for sale!!
Hi Keeway! Such a pretty card with a great sentiment! I’m always in love with your designs and keep expanding my ink blending backgrounds, thx to you! I’m also checking in with my favorite bloggers to send my prayers and well wishes. Thanks for continuing to post, it gives me a sense of normalcy. My best to you & your family! 😊❤️ Steph.
