Welcome back all for Day 2 of the Greetery’s Fresh Air Collection and my oh my I think you’re going to blown away by today’s products. Not am I a stencil geek, but extra obsessed over layering stencils and Betsy truly makes the best ones! Today’s product is all about fresh florals, and you’ll be seeing a lot of it in my projects.
Wow, isn’t that a gorgeous print? To create this background, I used the Print Shop: Fresh Floral stamp set and stencils. The stencil gives you the layers for the pink and blue flowers shown here and since we’re working with a stencil, that means I can give it some pretty ombre ink blending! My pink flowers are blended with Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick, and Seedless Preserves distress oxide inks and the small blue flowers are Broken China distress oxide ink.
For a little extra interest, I also die cut the bottom edge of my floral background with the Postal Frames Die to have a little gray card stock shown through.
With so much going on in the background, I like to have a big bold sentiment that can stand out and the Written in Ribbons stamp set is perfect for this. I stamped the ‘Hello’ in Dew Drops and Aqualicious Altenew inks and die cut with coordinating dies. The ‘dear friend’ was heat embossed in silver and die cut with Sentiment Suite Basics Die.
After my first big bold first card, I went for a bit more muted look for this next one. This time, rather than stamp out the large floral print, I used the Print Shop: Fresh Floral stamp set with its matching dies to to create my own arrangement of flowers. I used Altenew inks Forest Glades and Evergreen for the greens, Pale Muave, Amethyst, and Grape Agate for the purple flowers, and Volcano Lake and Lagoon for the small turqouise flowers.
I wanted a muted background so I used Morning Frost Altenew ink on gray card stock. I also added some white and turoquise paint splatter for a little extra interest.
A pretty floral card deserves an elegant sentiment to pair with it and the Sentiment Starters die is the perfect font for it. I die cut the words ‘a note of’ a couple times out of white card stock and once out of gold mirror card stock and layered them together. I selectively stamped the word ‘gratitude’ from Sentiment Suite: Thank You stamp set in Versamark ink and heat embossed it in gold. This was die cut with Sentiment Suite Basics Die. I love both cards today very much and I hope you do too!
