The Greetery: A Top Down Kind of Day

Are we ready for a new release with The Greetery?! None of us would have ever known we’d be in a pandemic and sheltered in place, but luckily many of us share a wonderful at-home hobby of  stamping and cardmaking to keep us connected in a different way. We all could use a little Fresh Air Collection!

The stamp set of the day is called Top Down Day. It is such a cute set featuring this girl driving with her car top down, and as a California girl, I totally relate to her! You can fill her backseat with flowers, balloons, or both. The set has some options to do solid stamping, solid stamping and outline, or outline stamping. My first card showcases it with just solid stamping.

Another new product featured on this card is the Painterly Stripes rubber stamp. I stamped it once in Morning Frost, shifted my stamping platform bit 1/4″ and stamped it again with Iceberg ink. I added a white frame using Crimped Frame die and a basic rectangle die to the thin frame. I added a stitched slope for the ground, with some light ink blending and paint splatter.

My top down girl image, the girl, the flowers, and the sentiment were stamped from the Top Down Day stamp and die set. I added them to the card foam tape. I like the clean and simple look of this card, but I think if I were to remake it, I’d probably use stronger colors. But the soft look is pretty too!

This next card once again features the op Down Day stamp and dies, but this time I opted to stamp the outline images alone and color it up with copic markers! I quite enjoyed coloring this image and I typically prefer to reach for my markers if I can so I can get more detailed in the colors and shading of the image.

I am also showcasing another new product on this card called Silver Lining die. Unfortunately this one of the dies that have manufacturing delays, so it won’t be available on release date immediately, but I very much love the inlay technique I can do with this die! I die cut a piece of white card stock first three times, and then used the same die on color card stock to get the colored lines. I blended each section of white card stock with Broken China distress oxide ink and them when assembling it back together, inlay the color lining in.

Do you like how my card stock cloud lining matches the balloon colors (or close to)? I added my colored image and a sentiment I die cut from the Top Down Day set to the card with foam tape.

Be sure to stop by The Greetery blog and the blogs from the inspiration team designers below for more inspiration. The release will be live in shop at The Greetery on Friday, March 27th at 10am EST. See you tomorrow for more release reveals!
