It is Day 4 of the Clearly Besotted May Release Countdown Teasers and today I will be sharing a pair of cards that features the Flower Plushies and Scene It Flower stamp sets. These two sets are absolutely perfect for each other and really for any of the plushie style sets they have been releasing, but also beautiful as a standalone set!
Since I’ve been so heavy with my scene cards, I decided to go for a more simplistic one for these, to really show how great they are as clean and simple scenes! I colored up all my images with copic markers and used my Scan N Cut to cut out the images.
The background was ink blended with distress oxide inks and to get the two separate ink blended section, I used some post its to mask off half the card and did a radial ink blend one one half of the card first. Then, I switched the masking to the other half of the card and blended the other half. Easy peasy! I gave it a gentle splatter of each side for interest. After it dried, I then used a scallop die cut on this background panel.
Before I added the images, I stamped the sentiments on to the card. The top sentiment is from the Flower Plushies stamp set and the second part of it is from the Scene it Flowers stamp set. I had snipped the second sentiment in half to fit it in two separate lines. If you’re hesistant to cut your stamps, you can always use some masking to end up with the same results!
I loved how it turned out so much, that I decided to use the same design on a different pairing of images. The color choices of this second is actually inspired by my time in Animal Crossing! I have been playing the game quite a bit lately and blue roses and lily of the valley flowers are rare and hard to grow! Creating them through my card is way easier!
Similar to the previous card, I used masking and ink blending to create my background, followed by a die cut with a scallop rectangle. I realized that I blended a little darker than my first card, so the first sentiment had a harder time standing out and I like to have my sentiments clear for the recipient, so this time I heat embossed it in white.
Once again, I snipped my second sentiment in half to fit it in two lines and stamped it just below the first one. I added my images down with foam tape to complete the card. Aren’t these stamp sets so sweet?
You can find more inspiration from the May Release on the Clearly Besotted blog and team members Keren Baker and Michelle Short. The release is just a day away and we got one more day of teasers tomorrow!
