Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Highlight: Slim Film City

This week we wil be highlighting all the dies in the recent Mama Elephant mini Creative Cuts release and I’ve got lots of awesome projects to share with you! I’ve been really loving the slim sized card trend and it’s given me a new platform to rethink my scenes. Not sure what a slim sized card is? Well, simply put its a card that is typically sized 3.5″ by 8.5″ and fits in your typical #10 letter sized envelope! Card of this length gives you lots of opportunity to extend your scenes horizontally or vertically, and today’s card will be showcasing the Slim Film City CC.

The great thing about slim sized dies is that you can always use them for A2 sized cards too! I used the cityscape die in Slim Film City to create this fun backdrop for my parade. I also used the large whimsical scallop die to frame the whole backgound. One layer with ink blended clouds, one layer for the cityscape, and one layer for the ground.

Most of the images you see here is from the Animal Parade set. Since I had more space to add more critter than just what this set has to offer, I also brought in this adorable kitty from Pinata Party. You can’t even tell it’s from another set!

I adhered the smaller images directly onto the card but used foam tape on all the critters. I backed the whole thing on a piece of white base card sized at 3.5″ by 8.25″. The frame was just a tad shorter than 8.5″ so I opted to trim it down just a little. Isn’t this such a cute party?! I really love these dies and see myself bringing them out again…. maybe even as soon as tomorrow? 😉
