Welcome back to another edition of the Mama Elephant Die Highlight and I’m sharing a project featuring the Slim Window Dressing CC. I first showcased this die on release day last week, and I highly recommend checking the post out if you haven’t already to see how this die creates the cutest building scene. I took a more creative spin today by mixing and matching the Slim Window Dressing CC with the Slim Film City CC to create a stage for ballerinas!
I first die cut the film strip from Slim Film City out of grey card stock and the curtains from Slim Window Dressing out of mauve card stock. The curtains come in a square frame so I trimmed off the top and bottom of it and backed it behind each film window. I also trimmed a piece of bristol board, ink blended it, and added to the back. This gave me little stage areas!
The images showcased here is from the stamp set Shall We Dance! I love these adorable little ballerinas. (And I can’t believe they are on sale right now too!) I used copic markers to color them and also die cut each one out with the coordinating dies.
I love to create my own fun backgrounds so I decided to use some post it tape here to randomly mask off triangular areas. I already had my layout in mind for the film strips, so I complimented that by giving it more diagonal lines and shapes. These triangles were ink blended with Stormy Sky and Peacock Feathers distress oxide inks.
Once the background was done, I added the film strips onto the card and my images last. The sentiment was heat embossed on some turqouise card stock and die cut with the fishtail banner from Mega Flipper CC.
