Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight: Oh Gnomie Tree

Lots of gnomes this month and of course we’ve got to add to the collection the Oh Gnomie Tree! I just love these series of stamps, especially the Oh Penguin Tree because I’m totally biased to all penguin sets, but these gnomes are just too adorable to pass up.

This tree is a big image, but nevertheless so fun to color. I know it can sometimes feel daunting to color so much, but take it one color at a time! I would go through the entire image with my reds first, then greens, then yellows, on and on until the whole thing is done. And often times I’d only color a bit at time, only to finish everything a few days later. But once it’s done, it feels glorious!

So what better way to give this image some focus and shine by having it radiating in the center of the card! My background was ink blended with distress oxide inks first, heat set to make sure it’s dry, and then with white pigment ink over the SSS Slimline Sun Rays Stencil.

I trimmed down the width of my background so I can add some red striped pattern paper accents to the card and also used the sentiment from Oh Gnomie Tree. I heat embossed it in white on red card stock, trimmed it to a thin strip and added it the bottom center of my card.
