Papertrey Ink

PTI Feature: Bloom & Grow, Butterfly Hope

What a crazy amount of projects from the Papertrey Ink design team, right? I got one more pair of cards for you today, one focused on the Make It Market Mini Kim: Bloom & Grow, and the other showcasing the Butterfly Hope stamp and die set.

I love playing with these mini kits. I think they are very reasonable priced at $42 and they come with so much pre-printed materials to make quick and easy cars, or the stamps and dies to create our own, forever! As much as I absolutely love coloring and making cards from scratch, sometimes I just need to make something really quick last minute. I went for the preprinted florals and pots, and started diecutting them out of the coordinating dies in the set. I only die cut a select few floral so that I have some popping out with foam tape and some just in the original image.

I assembled it all floral bouquet together and set it aside. Next I needed a palce for my sentiment, so I reached for my Banner Style Die and then did some ink blending with my Vintage Photo distress ink to create some shadows and more depth to it. I stamped the sentiment from Ways to Say: Thank You Mini Stamp Set, and adhered the top piece over foam tape.

I kept the background simple and utilized the pattern paper in the kit. I cut a thin strip of it, and then cut a slightly wider strip of vellum. I tore it to create a natural edge. As a last touch, I used my white gel pen to create a little decorative dots around the bouquet.

So, I know this kit was very popular and sold out within a few hours of release, but if you are looking for the restock, Nicole has let us know that it will come back within 2 weeks, so keep an eye out!

Next I showcase the Butterfly Hope stamp set and Fun Frames Die. I created a soft wash of watercolor to create a flying pathway for my butterflies. Then I heat embossed the sentiment from the set in silver in the bottom right quarter. To bring focus to the sentiment, I die cut Fun Frames out of white cardstock three times, adhered them together, and framed the sentiment.

I then stamped the butterflies and colored them in combination of stamping the inside layers and adding decorative markings and shading with copic markers. I adhered them with foam tape to complete the card.

Hope you enjoy all the inspiration in the past 5 days! If you’re interested in any of the March release products, head on over to the Papertrey Ink store today!
