PTI Introducing Lovely Lace Mini Kit

Oh! I’m so excited to be introducing the new Papertrey Ink Lovely Lace Mini Kit this month! There is so much awesomeness packed in this mini kit, I could make different cards for days. Today I will share three projects that I made primarily with this kit.

My first card is clean and simple. I love working with stencils, and I was so excited to start with the lovely lace stencil in the form of a frame. I decided to work with cool tones, so I picked out Blueberry Sky, Hawaiian Shores, and Green Parakeet.

I blended each color across the bottom of the card, slightly overlapping each other get a nice gradient, while lightening the touch as I curve off into the edge. I then added a tiny bit of splatter using those same 3 color inks.

I looked for a sentiment die that matched the delicacy of this lacey pattern and decided to go with Scripted dies. Instead of die cutting the sentiment in just white cardstock, I die cut it the same color cardstock as my dye inks! Then I layered them as I glued them together, with the white die cut on top. I tried to take a close shot to show you the details of how it came out. But that hint of interest was absolutely perfect to me to match this clean and simple look!

For my next card, I continued to work with the stencils, this time with the lace design full coverage stencil. I first blended a red to pink to white gradient background with the inks Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, and Lovely Lady. To get the stencil design on top of my gradient colors, I used embossing paste across the entire background.  Given how detailed this stencil was, I knew the embossing would look gorgeous!

I don’t work with embossing paste too often, but only because I’m terrible at being patient about it drying. However, I couldn’t resist seeing the beautiful results with this stencil, so I was patient this time around, and it was totally worth it. I wanted to cover the background as little as possible so I die cut ‘celebrate’ out of Web Paints Cuts III out of gold glitter shimmer cardstock once, layered with white cardstock die cuts for thickness.

With such a detailed, busy background, I also decided to add a follow-up sentiment ‘Happy Birthday’ below the celebrate on a strip of Berry Sorbet cardstock. This helped ground the ‘celebrate’ and helped it stand out clearly amongst the busy background.

Supplies Used:

Last up, I am featuring the Lovely Lace stamp set and dies. The intricacy of this die is absolutely stunning! I die cut it twice, once for the center image, and the other one split up in four pieces to fill up the rest of the background as a pattern.

I heat embossed the sentiment from the Lovely Lace stamp set in the center. The sentiment is so versatile because you can switch out the small text words for different occasions. So much use for a little stamp set!

As a finishing touch, I added some white acrylic paint splatter. I slimmed down the kraft cardstock by 0.25″ on each side, and adhered it to a white A2 base over fun foam.

Hope you enjoy today’s post and like each of the different style of cards! There is so much inspiration back on the Papertrey Ink blog and so much more to come over the next couple of weeks, that I hope you tune in each day.
