Papertrey Ink

PTI Feature: Give Love and Quatrefoil

Hello! Now that the full July Release of Papertrey Ink is available in store right now, it’s time to share some more projects from the release to inspire you with what you’ve bought or help you make some decisions!

My first card today features the Give Love stamp and die set. This set has such adorable birds and flowers! I love adding depth to my solid stamps by adding shading through ombre stamping. I would stamp the lighter color in full first, then dab on a darker color with a sponge dauber onto part of my stamp to add the darker blends. I performed this technique on all the pieces and die cut them out with coordinating dies.

The flowers were stamped in Lovely Lady ink, and then the center details were stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed in white. Then the flowers were die cut with coordinating dies.

I used last month’s Herb Garden Stencils to create a blended background for my card. I really love the intentionally rough edges of this die from the rectangular area. Then I stamped the sentiment right onto the top left corner of my blended background. And finally, I arranged my bird and flowers around it and adhered them down with foam tape.

Next up, this card features the Cover Up: Quatrefoil stamp set. This was a simple card but I absolutely love how it turned out. I first stamped the quatrefoil cover up onto watercolor paper in Versamark ink and heat embossed it in Β white. Then I painted an ombre layer of watercolor with red and blue.

Once my first layer was dried, I went back into the pattern and added a more saturated layer of color in random cells. It gave a beautiful stained glass kind of look doesn’t it? I didn’t want to cover much of the beautiful background so I die cut a ‘thank you’ sentiment in white that I added to the center of the card.

Hope you enjoy the projects I featured today. I’ll be back tomorrow with more that I can’t wait to share with you!

Hi Keeway! My heart did a pitter patter when I first saw the Give Love stamp set. (SometImes it’s like that). I love the simplicity yet sweet design. I’m working on my second card already and remembered how much I loved your beautiful design with your ombre stamping. I want to thank you for sharing your process. It’s a relatively new technique for me as I I’m new to stamping. (Except for sentiments). But- I keep trying. πŸ™‚
